Frequently asked questions

What is the LR189048 rear brake disc and what does it do?
The LR189048 is a solid (non-vented) rear brake disc for the Freelander 2. It mounts to the rear hub and provides the friction face the caliper clamps through the pads to slow the rear wheels. A solid rotor is used where rear braking loads don't need the extra cooling of a vented disc.
Does this fit my Freelander 2, and is it sold singly?
This solid rear disc fits the Land Rover Freelander 2 (2006-2014) from VIN DH000001, across all engine variants. It's supplied as a single disc, so order two for a complete rear axle replacement. Confirm your VIN, as fitment starts from build point DH000001.
Why replace rear discs in pairs on the Freelander 2?
Replace rear discs as an axle pair so both sides brake evenly. Fitting one new solid disc against a worn one can cause vibration or pulling under braking. Rear discs typically need renewing when scored, below minimum thickness, or lipped at the edge. Fit new rear pads at the same time.
