Frequently asked questions

What is the adjustable fulcrum bracket and ball joint assembly?
This is the apex mounting of the rear A-frame, the top link that locates the rear axle and controls its sideways and fore-aft movement. The bracket carries the A-frame ball joint where the two arms of the frame meet over the axle.
What does the adjustable ball joint do?
The adjustable ball joint can be re-tensioned in place as it wears and develops play, rather than being replaced. That extends its service life, so you can take up slack in the rear A-frame joint without removing the whole assembly.
Why does the rear A-frame ball joint wear out?
The rear A-frame ball joint wears because it carries constant axle location loads on the Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic. As it develops play you'll typically notice rear-axle wander or a knock over bumps. This adjustable type lets you re-tension it instead of replacing it.
Which vehicles does this fulcrum bracket fit?
This fulcrum bracket fits the Land Rover Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic, which all use the rear A-frame axle location setup. Confirm your vehicle has the A-frame top link before ordering.
