Frequently asked questions

What is the DA5206 fuse box and what does it do?
The DA5206 is a Lucas 4FJ-pattern fuse box that houses the circuit-protection fuses for the main electrical circuits. It provides fused distribution and mounts in place of the earlier fuse box arrangement on the Land Rover Series.
Which Series models does the 4FJ fuse box fit?
The DA5206 is the Lucas 4FJ upgrade for the Series IIA from Suffix D onward. Earlier suffixes use a different arrangement, so check your vehicle suffix before ordering. It replaces the original fuse box on those wiring layouts.
Is fitting the fuse box a DIY job?
Fitting the 4FJ fuse box is typically straightforward on the simple Series wiring, involving disconnecting the battery, transferring the fused circuits and mounting the new box. Label the wires first so each circuit returns to the correct fuse. Basic hand tools are usually enough.
