Frequently asked questions

What is the DA5300 rear cross member and what does it do?
The DA5300 is the rearmost structural section of the Defender chassis, tying the two chassis rails together and carrying the rear-mounted components. It is supplied galvanized for corrosion resistance and comes complete with its fitting kit.
What does non-300TDi mean for fitment?
The DA5300 is the rear cross member profile for Defender variants other than the 300TDi. The 300TDi models use a different cross member because of the exhaust and drivetrain layout, so check your engine before ordering to get the correct profile.
Is fitting a rear cross member a DIY job?
Replacing the rear cross member is a heavy structural repair, usually involving cutting off the old corroded member and welding the galvanized replacement to the chassis rails. It is typically a workshop job needing welding equipment, even though a fitting kit is supplied.
