Frequently asked questions

What is the DA5319 DRL repair module and what does it do?
The DA5319 restores the daytime running light function in the LED headlight of the New Defender L663 (2020 on). It replaces the failed DRL circuitry so the daytime running lights work again without buying a complete headlight assembly.
Why fit a repair module instead of a new headlight?
The DRL repair module fixes the common daytime running light failure inside the L663 headlight at a fraction of the cost of a full LED headlight unit. It targets the failed DRL section, so if the main beam, dip and indicators still work, the module is the cheaper repair.
Is fitting the DRL module a DIY job?
Fitting typically means removing the headlight unit and opening it to reach and replace the DRL circuitry, so it is more involved than a plug-in part. Many owners have it fitted by an auto-electrician. Check whether your headlight can be opened without damage before starting.
