Groothoek-achteras voor de achterste aandrijving, verbindt de verdeelbakuitgang met het achterdifferentieel.

Deze vervangt de standaard achterste aandrijfas door een groothoekverbinding die veel grotere werkhoeken verdraagt - handig als verhoogde ophanging of extreme asarticulatie de standaard as anders onder spanning zou zetten, wat zou leiden tot vastlopen, trillingen en snelle slijtage van de kruiskoppelingen. Het groothoekontwerp accepteert aandrijflijnhoeken tot ongeveer 32 graden, en de smeerbare, heavy-duty kruiskoppelingen zijn onderhoudsvriendelijk voor een langere levensduur. Geschikt voor V8, 300 TDi en Td5 toepassingen.

Gesloten lengte 685 mm, uitgeschoven lengte 755 mm. Een vervangende heavy-duty kruiskoppeling (DA6356) is apart verkrijgbaar.

Why fit a wide-angle propshaft instead of a standard one?

Yes, the universal joints on the DA6353 are greasable and serviceable, and a replacement heavy-duty universal joint is available separately as DA6356. A worn joint can be renewed without buying a complete new propshaft. Keeping the joints greased typically extends the shaft's working life.
