What is the elbow gasket and what does it do?
The elbow gasket seals the coolant outlet elbow, or thermostat housing, to the inlet manifold on the Land Rover V8 petrol engine. It forms part of the cooling circuit and seals the joint against coolant leakage where the elbow meets the manifold. Part number ERR2429.
When should this gasket be replaced?
Replace the elbow gasket whenever the thermostat housing or outlet elbow is removed. It's a single-use gasket, so it's renewed as standard during thermostat changes or coolant system work to make sure the joint seals properly and doesn't weep coolant.
Which V8 models does this gasket fit?
