What does this snorkel do?

This raised air intake relocates the engine's air intake from the wing to roof level, so induction air is drawn from above the bonnet line. A mushroom-type cyclonic pre-cleaner head spins heavier dust and water out of the airflow before it reaches the air filter.

Does this improve wading depth?

Yes. Because the intake is raised to roof level and connects to the existing air cleaner housing at the right-hand wing, it raises the effective wading line and reduces the dust load reaching the filter element in dry conditions.

Which engines does this fit?

On the pre-2007 Defender it fits the 300Tdi and Td5 engines. On the 2007-on Puma Defender it fits the Td4 2.2 and Td4 2.4 diesel engines. Confirm your engine variant before ordering, as intake routing differs between engine generations.
