What does the Snorkel do?

The snorkel is a raised air intake that relocates the engine's air intake from the wing top to roof level, fitted to the Defender 300TDi, built 1994 to 1999. It's moulded in UV-stable polyethylene with stainless steel mounting hardware.

Why does raising the air intake to roof height help?

Taking air in at roof height keeps the intake clear of the dust cloud and standing water around bumper level, and draws in cooler air than an intake sitting beside the engine bay. The body mounts to the front wing and ducts air down to the air cleaner inlet.

Will this snorkel fit a left-hand drive Defender?

It's designed for right-hand side fitment on the 300TDi. Left-hand drive vehicles may need minor modification to fit it properly, so factor that in before ordering if your Defender is LHD.

Does this snorkel fit other Defender engines?

This snorkel is built specifically for the 300TDi 2.5 litre engine, 1994 to 1999. Confirm your engine code before ordering, since air intake routing differs between Defender engine generations.
