What is the GA3421 intake pipe kit used for?
GA3421 is an alloy intake pipe kit for the Td5 2.5L diesel engine, replacing the moulded intake ducting between the air flow meter and the turbocharger inlet. It's built from laser-cut aluminium cones rolled and welded to step the diameter down smoothly, rather than the abrupt reduction of the original moulded hose.
Does GA3421 require any modification to fit?
No. GA3421 fits in place of the standard intake pipe without further modification, thanks to a CNC-machined breather take-off built into the assembly. It's a straightforward swap for anyone comfortable removing the standard intake ducting on a Td5.
Why fit an alloy intake pipe instead of the standard hose on a Td5?
Original moulded Td5 intake hoses can collapse under the induction system's negative pressure, especially on tuned engines or those fitted with a larger turbocharger. The rigid alloy construction of GA3421 removes that collapse risk entirely.
