The KVB000294E is a replacement rear chassis crossmember supplied with short extensions for the Defender 110 and 130. It closes the rear ends of the chassis rails and provides the mounting for the rear bumper and towing equipment.
Can the KVB000294E crossmember be fitted at home?
No, fitting requires cutting and welding and should be carried out by a competent workshop. The short-extension version is joined to the existing chassis rails once the corroded section is cut back, so the rails must be sound where the extensions join.
Does the KVB000294E fit all Defender 110/130 models?
It fits the Defender 110 and 130 from 1998 onward, including both Td5 and Puma (2007 onward) diesel variants. It's only suitable where corrosion hasn't spread beyond the rear section; if the rails are rotten further forward, a longer extension crossmember is needed instead.
