Gemonteerd op de achternaaf en roterend binnen de achterremklauw, vormt de schijf het wrijvingsoppervlak waartegen de remblokken klemmen om achterremkracht te genereren. De geventileerde constructie omvat interne koelkanalen tussen de twee remoppervlakken om warmteafvoer te bevorderen. De hoogkoolstofsamenstelling verbetert de thermische weerstand en vermindert de neiging tot scheurvorming onder herhaalde hogetemperatuurremcycli.
