LR032855 is the front air conditioning condenser kit for the Range Rover L322. The condenser sits ahead of the radiator and sheds heat from the high pressure refrigerant leaving the compressor, turning it back to liquid before it reaches the expansion valve.
Which L322 variants does this fit?
This kit fits petrol V8 Range Rover L322 only. That covers 2002 to 2009 with the 4.4L V8 EFI petrol (220kW) or the 4.2L supercharged V8 petrol, and 2010 to 2012 with the 5.0L OHC SGDI AJ133 V8, naturally aspirated or supercharged, from VIN (V)AA000001.
Does it fit the diesel L322?
No. LR032855 does not fit Td6 or TDV8 diesel L322 variants. The diesel cars take a different condenser, so check which engine your vehicle has before ordering rather than going by model year alone.
Why do condensers fail on the L322?
Condensers fail from stone damage through the grille, corrosion of the aluminium fins from road salt, and internal blockage after a compressor breaks up. The usual symptom is air conditioning that blows cool rather than cold, or a system that loses refrigerant over a few weeks.
What else is needed when fitting a condenser?
The system has to be evacuated and recharged with air conditioning equipment, so this is not a fully DIY job on the L322. The receiver drier is typically renewed at the same time, since it absorbs moisture as soon as the system is opened.
