Frequently asked questions

What does the LR033257LR rear ride height sensor do?
The LR033257LR rear ride height sensor links the rear suspension arm to the body and reports rear ride height to the air suspension control module on the Discovery 5, Range Rover L405 and Range Rover Sport L494. The module uses the signal to regulate air spring pressure and hold the vehicle level.
How many rear height sensors does the vehicle use?
The rear air suspension uses one height sensor per side, so there are two at the rear axle. If one corner reads incorrectly that sensor is usually replaced, though some workshops renew both together on the Discovery 5, Range Rover L405 or Range Rover Sport L494 for consistent readings.
What are the symptoms of a faulty ride height sensor?
A faulty or mis-calibrated rear height sensor typically triggers suspension fault warnings, incorrect height adjustment or an uneven rear stance. Because the module relies on it to set air spring pressure, a bad sensor can leave the rear sitting too high or low on the L405, L494 or Discovery 5.
