Brandstofinjectorrubber is het afdichtingsrubber dat een brandstofinjector omringt waar deze in de cilinderkop / nokkenasafdekking van de 2.2L diesel (Puma) motor zit.

Het dicht de injectorboring af tegen oliemigratie en houdt de injector correct op zijn plaats. De rubbers worden routinematig vervangen wanneer de injectoren worden verwijderd, aangezien het materiaal hard wordt door hitte en ouderdom en zijn afdichting verliest.

What does the fuel injector grommet do?

The fuel injector grommet seals a fuel injector where it sits in the cylinder head and cam cover on the 2.2L diesel (Puma) engine. It seals the injector bore against oil migration and keeps the injector located in its seat. Fitted to the Defender 2007-2016 2.2L Puma diesel.

How many injector grommets does the engine need?

The 2.2L Puma diesel uses four fuel injector grommets, one per injector. If you're removing all four injectors, order four. They're inexpensive, so it's common to renew the full set rather than reuse any.

Can the injector grommet be reused?

Injector grommets are typically renewed whenever the injectors are removed, not reused. The material hardens with heat and age and loses its seal, so a used grommet may let oil migrate. Fitting new grommets on the 2.2L Puma diesel restores a reliable injector seal.
