The exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor measures exhaust temperature so the ECU can protect the turbo and manage DPF regeneration on the 3.0L V6 diesel. This is the centre/middle sensor. Accurate readings let the system trigger regen and prevent overheating of the after-treatment system.
