What is the injection pump leak-off tube (LR073709)?
The injection pump leak-off tube returns spill fuel from the diesel injection pump to the low-pressure circuit back toward the tank. It's fitted to the 2.0L Ingenium diesel engine (AJ200/AJ20D4) and carries the small leak-off flow the pump sheds during normal running.
Where does the leak-off tube sit and why does it leak?
The leak-off tube connects at the diesel injection pump on the 2.0L engine. It's a common point for fuel weeps, so it's usually renewed whenever the pump or its fuel lines are disturbed. A perished tube can let diesel seep and draw air into the return circuit.
Should the leak-off tube be replaced when working on the pump?
Replace the leak-off tube whenever the injection pump or its fuel lines are disturbed. These connections harden and weep with age and heat, so reusing an old tube risks a fresh fuel leak. It's a low-cost part typically renewed as part of the job.
