Het slot grijpt in de op het chassis gemonteerde sluitplaat om de deur gesloten te houden en bevat het vergrendelingsmechanisme dat de interne en externe ontgrendelingshendels verbindt met de centrale vergrendeling. Het ontgrendelt de deur wanneer een hendel wordt bediend en houdt deze veilig wanneer deze is vergrendeld.
