Frequently asked questions

What does the exhaust gas pressure sensor do?
The exhaust gas pressure sensor measures the pressure difference across the diesel particulate filter (DPF) and signals the ECU when a regeneration is needed. This Genuine Land Rover sensor fits 2.0L diesel DPF models including the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque L538 and L551.
Where is the exhaust gas pressure sensor located?
The exhaust gas pressure sensor typically sits in the engine bay near the DPF, connected to the exhaust by two small pressure pipes that sample gas before and after the filter. It belongs to the exhaust aftertreatment and emissions system.
What are the signs the DPF pressure sensor is failing?
Common signs include a DPF or engine warning light, failed or overly frequent regenerations, and reduced power or limp mode. A faulty exhaust gas pressure sensor can report incorrect DPF readings, so the ECU cannot manage soot levels correctly on these 2.0L diesel models.
