What is the LR132676LR timing chain?
The LR132676LR is the lower primary timing chain of the 2.0L Ingenium diesel engine (AJ200D/AJ20D4). It takes drive from the crankshaft sprocket and passes it to the upper section that turns the camshafts, running against guides under tension from a hydraulic tensioner.
What are the signs of a stretched timing chain?
A stretched chain typically shows as a rattle from the front of the engine on a cold start. Left unattended it drifts the valve timing far enough to log correlation faults on the 2.0L diesel Ingenium. This is the diesel chain only; petrol engines aren't covered.
What else should be replaced with the timing chain?
The chain is supplied on its own. Guides, tensioner and sprockets are separate parts and are normally renewed at the same time, since chain, guides and tensioner wear together as a set. Fits 2.0L diesel Discovery 5, New Defender and Range Rover Sport L494 among others.
