The steering rack is the complete rack-and-pinion steering gear. The pinion converts steering wheel rotation into lateral travel of the rack, which acts through the track rods to turn the front wheels, with integral electric power assistance.
Is this steering rack for right-hand or left-hand drive?
This steering rack is right-hand drive only. RHD and LHD racks differ in internal and mounting geometry and are not interchangeable.
Does this steering rack use hydraulic fluid?
No. Power assistance is electric, with the assistance motor and its control unit mounted to the rack housing. There is no hydraulic pump, pipework or fluid in the circuit.
