Frequently asked questions

What is this suspension arm bush and what does it do?
This is the front suspension arm bush, the rubber-bonded pivot that mounts the front arm to the subframe. It lets the arm rotate through suspension travel while isolating road shock from the body, and locates the arm so front wheel alignment stays stable under braking and cornering.
Which vehicles does it fit?
This front suspension arm bush fits the New Defender L663 2020+ (less SV specification) and the Discovery 5 L462 2017+ (from VIN K2000001). Confirm your model and, on the Defender, that it isn't SV specification before ordering.
What are the signs the bush is worn?
A worn or split front arm bush typically shows as vague steering, knocking over rough surfaces, and uneven front tyre wear. Because the bush locates the arm, a failed one lets alignment shift under load, so it's worth replacing as soon as the symptoms appear.
How is the bush fitted?
The bush is pressed out of and into the eye of the suspension arm, so it usually needs a press or suitable drawbolt tool rather than hand fitting. Tighten the arm fasteners with the suspension at normal ride height, so the bush isn't left preloaded in torsion, which shortens its life.
