The LR181384G is a front-mounted air conditioning condenser (OEM, Nissens) for 3.0L AJ20D6 diesel, 3.0L AJ20P6 petrol and 5.0L AJ133 V8 petrol engines. It sits at the front of the cooling pack ahead of the radiator and turns high-pressure refrigerant vapour from the compressor into a high-pressure liquid.
Why do A/C condensers fail?
Because the condenser sits at the leading face of the cooling stack, its aluminium core is exposed to stone impact and road salt. Bent or corroded fins, a blocked face or a leaking core reduce heat rejection, which shows first as poor cooling at idle and in slow traffic. Damage or leaks mean replacement.
