The LR183649LR is the accessory drive belt tensioner for the 3.0L AJ20D6 Ingenium diesel engine, fitted to the New Defender L663, Discovery 5, Range Rover L460, Range Rover Sport L461 and Velar. Its sprung arm and idler pulley keep correct tension on the accessory belt and damp crankshaft pulses.
What are the signs of a worn tensioner?
A worn drive belt tensioner typically shows as bearing noise, pulley wobble or belt flutter on these 3.0L AJ20D6 diesel engines. As the spring or bearing tires it can't hold belt tension, which accelerates belt wear and risks the belt being thrown.
Should I replace the belt at the same time?
