The LR184650 is the secondary accessory drive belt, the 1430mm supercharger drive belt, for the 5.0 AJ133 supercharged V8 petrol engine in the New Defender 2020+ (L663). It runs from the crankshaft over the secondary tensioner and idler to the supercharger pulley, driving the supercharger independently of the primary belt.

Is this the main belt or the supercharger belt?

This is the secondary belt that drives only the supercharger on the New Defender L663 5.0 V8. The alternator, A/C compressor and water pump run off a separate primary belt. Order the LR184650 if you specifically need the 1430mm supercharger belt.

When does the supercharger belt need replacing?

Replace the secondary supercharger belt when it shows rib cracking, glazing or fraying on the New Defender L663 5.0 V8. A slipping or worn belt reduces supercharger drive. Renew a worn secondary tensioner alongside a belt that has failed.
