Frequently asked questions

What is the MWC4734 bodyside sliding glass?
The MWC4734 is the sliding glass pane from the horizontally-sliding window in the rear body side of the Land Rover Defender Station Wagon. It travels in the channels of the bodyside window frame to open and close the aperture.
Can the glass be replaced without removing the window frame?
The pane is retained by the frame and its glazing seals rather than bonded to the body, so it can be renewed without disturbing the surrounding panel work on the Land Rover Defender. It slides out of its channels once the seals are freed.
Why does the sliding glass usually need replacing?
Replacement is normally driven by impact damage, or by scoring and chipping the pane picks up from grit carried in the slide channels. It fits the Land Rover Defender Station Wagon in regular, 3-door and 5-door forms.
