NRC4361 - Uitlaatdemper 109 St1 - V8

The NRC4361 centre silencer is the middle box in the exhaust on the Land Rover Stage 1 V8 (1979-1985), the 109-inch Series III-based model with the 3.5L V8 petrol engine. It reduces exhaust noise and sits between the front pipe and the tailpipe section.

The centre silencer mounts mid-system, under the chassis between the downpipe and the rear tailpipe silencer on the Stage 1 V8. It's the intermediate box on the 3.5L V8 petrol exhaust. Land Rover part number NRC4361, also cross-referenced as BR 1563.

Centre silencers fail from internal corrosion and split seams, which typically cause a louder, droning exhaust and blowing at the joints. On the 3.5L V8 Stage 1 rust usually starts inside the box. A rattle from a broken internal baffle is another common sign it's due.
