De remklauw klemt zijn remblokken tegen de oppervlakken van deze schijf om het wiel te vertragen. De interne schoepen van het geventileerde ontwerp zuigen koellucht door de schijf, voeren remwarmte af en weerstaan fading bij langdurig of zwaar remmen.
