Frequently asked questions

What is this power steering pipe for?
This is the high-pressure feed pipe carrying fluid from the power steering pump outlet to the steering box on the Range Rover P38. It is pre-formed to the factory routing across the engine bay and locates in its retaining clips.
Why does this pipe commonly fail?
Because it sits on the pressure side of the circuit, the crimped end unions and flexible section are the usual source of steering fluid loss and of heavy or intermittent assistance on the P38. A leak here typically drops the fluid level and lets air into the system.
Which P38 does it fit and what is needed after fitting?
It fits Range Rover P38 (1994-2001) petrol models with factory power steering. Bleed the circuit and check the fluid level after fitting to clear trapped air and restore consistent assistance.
