What is the SS108201 hex socket screw used for?

The SS108201 is a hexagon socket head screw with an internal hex (Allen) drive. It's used at confined diesel engine points, principally turbocharger fixings, EGR pipework and valve pipe flanges, where a spanner can't reach a conventional hex head between the turbo, manifold and bulkhead.

Which models does the SS108201 fit?

The SS108201 fits diesel Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic, on 200/300 Tdi turbocharger and valve pipe fixings, EGR pipework and, on the Classic, gear change fixings. Confirm your engine and application before ordering.

Should these screws be reused?

Renewal is normal practice. These screws run hot and heat-cycle, so the drive recess fills with carbon and corrosion and frequently rounds out on removal. Fit new screws whenever the turbo or exhaust pipework is disturbed.
