What does a raised air intake do on a P38?
A raised air intake draws cooler, cleaner air from roof height and reduces the risk of water entering the engine when wading. It also helps in dust, since less airborne grit reaches the filter at that height.
Is a snorkel alone enough for deep wading?
No. The TF159 protects the engine intake only. Axle, gearbox and transfer box breathers usually need extending as well before deep water work, and the P38's electrics deserve attention too. Treat the snorkel as one part of wading preparation.
