Frequently asked questions

What is the Air to Coil Conversion Kit?
The Air to Coil Conversion Kit replaces the P38 Range Rover's electronically controlled air suspension with conventional coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers on both axles. It's set up to reproduce the standard air-suspension ride height and load rating.
Which vehicle does it fit?
This kit fits the Range Rover P38 (1994-2001). The coil springs are rated to match the standard ride height, so the vehicle sits and loads as it did on air, without the air springs.
Why convert a P38 to coil springs?
Air suspension on the P38 fails through leaking air bags, a tired compressor or valve-block faults, and a failed bag can leave the vehicle sitting on its bump stops. Converting to coils removes those failure points for good.
What's included in the kit?
The kit is complete for both axles, front and rear coil springs with matched telescopic shocks. Everything needed for the conversion comes together, so there's no need to source springs and dampers separately.
Can this be fitted at home?
Fitting typically needs a spring compressor, jack and axle stands, and involves removing the air suspension components. It's a substantial job, so owners without air-suspension experience often have it done in a workshop on the P38.
