Frequently asked questions

What is the TF3314 snatch ring used for?
The TF3314 snatch ring is an aluminium alloy rigging ring rated at 18 tonne MBS, used to redirect a winch line around an anchor point or to turn it back for a double-line pull.
Can the snatch ring be used with steel winch cable?
No. The 18 tonne snatch ring is for synthetic winch rope only. It is not suitable for steel winch cable, which would damage the radiused bore.
What is the difference between a snatch ring and a snatch block?
A snatch ring has no moving parts and the rope runs directly over its radiused surface, so it is lighter and more compact than a pulley block and stores far less energy should the rigging fail under load.
How do I know when to replace a snatch ring?
Replace the alloy snatch ring if the rope bore shows deep grooving, gouges or flat spots. Surface damage concentrates load and cuts into the rope. Rated 18 tonne MBS.
