What do the hydraulic bump stop spacers do?
The bump stop spacers fit between the chassis bump stop mounting and the bump stop itself, packing the stop down by 25mm (1 inch). The stop then makes contact earlier in the suspension travel, reducing maximum compression by the same amount.
Which vehicles do the bump stop spacers fit?
The bump stop spacers fit the Defender (1983-2016), Discovery 1 (1989-1998) and Range Rover Classic (up to 1994). They're zinc-plated steel, drilled to suit both two-hole and four-hole bump stop mountings across those models.
Why would I fit bump stop spacers?
Fit them to keep oversize tyres clear of the bodywork on full bump, and to protect longer-than-standard shocks from bottoming out internally. They're commonly fitted alongside lowered shock turrets and rear top shock mounts, where reduced shock length makes limiting compression necessary.
