What is the TF701 HID spotlight?

The TF701 is a pair of 8 inch driving lamps using 35W xenon HID (high-intensity discharge) technology. HID output is up to three times that of a comparable halogen spotlight at roughly half the current draw, with a longer service life.

What is included in the kit?

The kit includes the pair of 8 inch HID lamps, the wiring loom, a relay, the xenon ballasts and an isolator switch. The ballasts step up voltage to strike and run the xenon bulbs, and the relay handles the lamp load off a switched trigger.

Why choose HID over halogen driving lamps?

HID driving lamps give up to three times the light output of a comparable halogen spotlight while drawing roughly half the current, and the bulbs last considerably longer. That makes the 35W 8 inch HID a strong choice for auxiliary long-range lighting.

How are these wired in?

The TF701 comes with a loom, relay, ballasts and isolator switch, so it is a self-contained kit. The relay draws the lamp current from the battery and the isolator switch lets you cut the lamps. Auxiliary driving lamps must be wired and used to local road lighting rules.
