The TF8215 fuel filler surround is a chequer plate panel framing the fuel filler aperture on the Defender rear body side. It covers the painted area around the filler neck, the zone most exposed to nozzle contact, fuel spillage and scuffing. Black 3mm chequer plate.
Which Defender does this filler surround fit?
The TF8215 fits the pre-Td5 Defender, 1983 to 1998 (Tdi era). It is cut to the earlier filler aperture, so it will not line up with the later Td5 body.
Why fit a chequer plate around the fuel filler?
The painted panel around the filler neck typically gets scratched by the fuel nozzle and marked by spillage over time. The chequer plate surround takes that wear instead of the bodywork on the pre-Td5 Defender.
