What is the TF8226 wing top chequer plate?
The TF8226 is a pair of black powder coated chequer plate covers for the upper surfaces of the front wings on the Land Rover Defender. Wing tops get used as a step and working platform, so these protect the paint from scratches and denting.
What is different about the TF8226 aerial version?
The TF8226 is pierced for a left hand mounted radio aerial, so the aerial passes through the plate. If your aerial sits elsewhere or you have none, the plain no-aerial version (TF8228) suits instead.
How is the TF8226 fitted?
The TF8226 mounts to the front wing tops with the supplied stainless steel countersunk bolts and nuts. It's typically a bolt-on DIY fit. The pair covers both wings, adding a hard-wearing black surface where the paint would otherwise scuff.
