What is the VPLRT0175 tow bracket?
The VPLRT0175 is a fixed multi-height tow bracket kit for the Land Rover Discovery 5 (2017 on). It bolts to the rear crossmember and includes the bracket, a towing armature and an adjustable slider plate giving three selectable heights, so the coupling can be set level for the trailer. It's supplied with a 50 mm tow ball.
What is the towing capacity of this bracket?
This tow bracket is rated to a maximum 3,500 kg towing capacity and 350 kg noseweight. The figures actually permitted on your Discovery 5 depend on its powertrain and wheel fitment, so check the vehicle's own towing limits, which can be lower than the bracket's maximum.
Do I need anything else to complete the installation?
Yes, a tow eye cover is needed to finish the installation and isn't included in the VPLRT0175 kit, so order it separately. The three-height slider plate and 50 mm ball are supplied, so no separate tow ball is required for the Discovery 5.
What does multi-height mean on this tow bracket?
