What is the WFX000160 fuel pump and sender unit used for?

This in-tank assembly combines the electric fuel lift pump with the fuel level sender on the Range Rover L322 (2002-2009) 3.0L M57 D30 diesel. The pump feeds the high-pressure pump, while the float-arm sender signals tank contents to the instrument pack. Supplied as a complete unit.

What are the failure symptoms on this unit?

Typical symptoms are extended cranking, fuel starvation under load and an erratic or stuck fuel gauge on the L322 3.0 diesel. As the pump and sender are one assembly, a failed sender or a weak pump both mean replacing the complete in-tank unit.

Where is this fuel pump fitted?

It mounts in the top of the fuel tank on the L322, part of the fuel tank pump, sender and mountings group. Access is through the tank-top aperture, so the assembly is withdrawn on its mounting flange. This is the M57 D30 diesel installation only.
