What is the CAJ100370 roof rack side rail gasket used for?
The CAJ100370 is the front lower left-hand gasket that seats between the roof rack side rail and the roof panel. It seals the mounting interface so water can't track into the roof at the side rail fixings. Genuine Land Rover part for Discovery 1 and Discovery 2 fitted with a factory roof rack.
How many of these gaskets are needed?
Typically one CAJ100370 gasket is needed per mounting, since this covers the front lower left-hand position only. A full side rail reseal usually needs the matching gaskets for the other positions too, so order by position rather than assuming one seals the whole rail.
How is this gasket different from the other roof rack side rail gaskets?
This is the front lower left-hand gasket. The side rail uses separate seals for the upper and lower positions on each side, so confirm you need the lower LH part and not an upper or right-hand version. The positions are shaped differently and typically aren't interchangeable.
Which vehicles does this roof rack gasket fit?
This gasket fits the Discovery 1 (1989-1998, VIN FA393361 to WA799999) and Discovery 2 (1998-2004), and only on vehicles fitted with the factory roof rack side rails. If your Discovery doesn't have the factory side rails, you won't need this seal. Use your VIN to confirm the Discovery 1 build range.
