The PHC000110LR air cleaner cover is the lid of the air cleaner assembly on the Discovery 2, sealing over the filter housing and retaining the air filter element. It forms the clean-side outlet feeding the induction ducting to the throttle body.
Which Discovery 2 engines does this air cleaner cover fit?
This air cleaner cover fits the Discovery 2 (1998-2004) petrol engines only. It's the Genuine Land Rover lid carrying the clip fixings and outlet spigot, not for diesel applications.
Why does the air cleaner cover need replacing?
Cracks around the spigot and broken retaining clip lugs are the usual reasons. On the Discovery 2 petrol, a cover that no longer seals lets air bypass the airflow sensor, giving a weak mixture and unstable idle.
