Luchtreiniger naar luchtstroommeter afdichting dicht de verbinding af tussen de uitlaat van de luchtreinigerbehuizing en de luchtstroommeter in het luchtinlaattraject van de motor. Het handhaaft een luchtdichte verbinding zodat de lucht die de luchtstroommeter bereikt, door het filterelement is gegaan, waardoor wordt voorkomen dat ongefilterde lucht en stof het filter omzeilen en de inlaat binnendringen.

Een uitgeharde, vervormde of gespleten afdichting laat niet-gemeten lucht in de inlaat, wat het massaluchtstroomsignaal en de brandstoftoevoer van de motor kan verstoren. Inspecteer en vernieuw deze altijd wanneer de luchtreiniger of luchtstroommeter wordt verstoord.

The air cleaner to airflow meter seal closes the joint between the air cleaner housing outlet and the airflow meter on the Td5 intake. It keeps the connection airtight so all air reaching the mass airflow meter has passed through the filter, stopping unfiltered air and dust bypassing the element.
What happens if this intake seal fails?
A failed intake seal lets unmetered air into the Td5 intake tract. Once the seal hardens, distorts or splits, air sneaks past the mass airflow meter and disturbs its signal and the engine's fuelling, which can show as rough running. Renew it whenever the air cleaner or airflow meter is disturbed.
