Frequently asked questions

What is the drag link tube and what does it do?
The drag link tube is the tube section of the drag link, the steering rod ahead of the front axle connecting the steering box drop arm to the swivel hub steering arm on the Discovery 2. It carries the full steering input load and any impact fed back from the axle.
Why is this the RHD version, does it matter?
This is the right-hand drive drag link tube. Steering linkage geometry differs between RHD and LHD Discovery 2, so confirm your vehicle drive side before ordering. The tube is threaded at each end to accept the drag link ball joint ends and their clamps.
Can the steering be adjusted after fitting?
Yes. The threaded ends let the assembled length be set on fitting, which also sets the straight-ahead steering wheel position on the Discovery 2. Have the front wheel alignment checked afterward. Wear or distortion here typically shows as steering free play and wander.
