Frequently asked questions

What is the TF535 shock turret?
The TF535 is a pair of skeleton-type front shock absorber turrets for the Land Rover Discovery 2, extended by 30mm. The turret carries the upper mounting eye of the front damper and locates it above the inner wing. It is an open tubular steel design supplied as a front pair.
Why fit a +30mm skeleton turret?
The 30mm extension repositions the upper damper mount for raised suspension on the Discovery 2, keeping the shock working in its correct range on a lifted vehicle. The open skeleton drains freely rather than trapping water and road salt, the usual cause of original turret failure.
Why do the original turrets fail?
The original pressed front turrets on the Discovery 2 fail because the closed pressing holds water and road salt inside, corroding from within until the mount weakens. The TF535 skeleton design drains freely, so it resists that rot. Replace if the original shows corrosion or cracking.
Is this a pair and does it suit a standard Discovery 2?
The TF535 is supplied as a front pair. The +30mm turret is intended for raised suspension on the Discovery 2, so it is best matched to a lift rather than standard ride height. Confirm your setup before ordering.
