De pakking vormt de olie-dichte verbinding tussen de eenvoudig te verwisselen metalen carterpan en de transmissiebehuizing, waardoor de versnellingsbakolie wordt vastgehouden en verontreiniging wordt buitengehouden. Deze wordt gebruikt om de carterpan af te dichten bij de DA2142 / TF2142 carterpan ombouw en wordt elke keer vernieuwd wanneer de pan wordt verwijderd voor een filter- en vloeistofwissel.
