What happens if the degas separator fails?
A failed degas separator usually leaks coolant or lets air into the system, which can cause overheating, coolant loss and inconsistent cabin heat. Cracks in the plastic housing are a typical failure on these Ingenium petrol engines. Replacing it restores proper deaeration and stable coolant flow.
