Frequently asked questions

What is the tinted green sliding window kit and what does it do?
This sliding window kit is a pair of side windows with green-tinted toughened glass that replace fixed panes. The sliding sections open for cabin ventilation, and the tint cuts glare and UV while adding privacy. The glass is certified to E11 CE R-43.
What's included in this sliding window kit?
The kit includes two green-tinted sliding windows, rubber mounting strips that conceal the securing rivets for a clean edge, and a plastic catch. It's supplied as a pair, so it covers both sides in one purchase.
Which Land Rovers do these sliding windows fit?
These sliding windows fit the Land Rover Series I, Series II, IIA and III, and the Defender from 1986 to 2016. They typically replace the fixed side windows in the rear body. On a Defender 110 Station Wagon the aperture is around 109cm wide.
Can the sliding windows be fitted at home?
Fitting these windows is typically a DIY job with basic hand tools, though the panes are secured with rivets so you'll need a riveter. The supplied rubber strips cover the rivet heads once fitted. Take care handling the toughened glass during installation.
