Frequently asked questions

What are these 8 inch driving lamps used for?
They're a pair of 8 inch auxiliary driving lamps that boost forward high-beam range on the Land Rover Defender and Series 2/3. They mount to the front of the vehicle to improve visibility on unlit tracks and at speed.
How many lamps come in this set?
This is a pair, so you get two 8 inch lamps, one for each side. Driving lamps are normally fitted in twos for a balanced beam spread. Wiring, a relay and a switch are usually needed and may be sold separately.
Where are these lamps mounted?
Driving lamps typically mount to a front bull bar, A-bar or bumper on the Defender or Series 2/3. They sit ahead of the grille so the beam clears the bonnet line. Aim them level and slightly down to avoid dazzling oncoming traffic.
Do I need anything extra to wire them in?
Yes, driving lamps usually need a relay, fused feed and a dash switch, plus a link to the main beam circuit so they only work on high beam. Check your local rules on auxiliary lamp use before wiring them permanently.
