What is the DA2210 swivel pin kit for?

The DA2210 swivel pin kit renews the upper swivel pins of the front axle swivel housings on the Land Rover Defender. The upper pin is the pivot the swivel housing turns on for steering. The kit contains two upper swivel pins, two swivel pin bearings and a shim set, enough to do both front swivels.

Which Defenders does this kit fit?

This kit fits the Land Rover Defender within VIN range LA930456 to WA159806, roughly the 300Tdi era. It does not fit Defenders outside that VIN range. Check your chassis number against this range before ordering, as earlier vehicles use a different swivel pin kit.

What are the signs the swivel pins need replacing?

Worn upper swivel pins usually bring on stiff or notchy steering, play at the swivel housing and grease leaks from the joint. Left unattended, worn pins accelerate wear on the swivel housing itself. Fitting new pins with fresh shims resets the swivel housing preload.
