Frequently asked questions

What is the T2H37952-G brake caliper and what does it do?
The T2H37952-G is the rear left-hand brake caliper with an integrated electric park brake actuator. It clamps the rear pads against the disc under hydraulic pressure, and its built-in motor applies the parking brake electronically, so there's no separate park brake cable. Fitted to the 2.0D 17-inch rear brake setup.
Do I need diagnostic equipment to fit this caliper?
Yes. The park brake piston must be wound back electronically with approved diagnostic equipment before the pads can be removed or the new caliper fitted. You can't retract this piston by hand like a conventional caliper, so this isn't a job to attempt without the right tool.
How do I confirm this caliper fits my Jaguar?
Confirm three things: it's the rear left-hand (LH) caliper, your car has the 2.0 diesel with 17-inch rear brakes, and it's an XE (X760), XF (X260) or F-PACE (X761). Use your VIN to confirm the brake package, since larger-brake variants take a different caliper.
What are the signs this rear caliper needs replacing?
A failing rear caliper typically shows as a sticking or dragging brake, uneven rear pad wear, fluid weeping at the piston seal, or an electric park brake fault warning. On these Jaguars the integrated park brake motor can also fail electrically, leaving the parking brake unable to apply or release.
